Moulin Rouge Paris - Editorial
Any photograph is a decisive unique moment in time which can be even more emphasized with the black and white medium. This photograph of the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris (1998) is one of the first photographs that I created that made me realize just how unique such a moment in time actually is. Just a week after creating this photograph I traveled back from Amsterdam to Paris to show my girlfriend this beautiful location. Much to my surprise just about everything was different although we stood in exactly the same spot.
Even though I was already a photographer for some years I really had the feeling that this experience was very much the beginning of my professional career as a photographer. It made me realize that it’s just not possible to recreate any moment in time and that one should cherish every moment in our life as being truly unique.
